چکیده

Experiments done with single photon in the early 1990’s produced a surprising result: that single photon pass through a photon tunnel barrier with a group velocity faster than the vacuum speed of light. Recently, a series of experiments revealed that electromagnetic wave was able to travel at a group velocity faster than c. These phenomena have been observed in dispersive media. We think all particles can be divided into three kinds in nature: The first kind of particle is its velocity in the range of 0 ≤ v < c, e.g. electron, atom and so on. The second kind of particle is its velocity in the range of 0 ≤ v < cm, e.g. photon. The third kind of particle is its velocity in the range of c ≤ v < cm (cm is the maximum velocity in universe), e.g. tachyon. The first kind of particle is described by the special relativity. In this paper, we give some new kinematic and dynamic equations to describe the second and third kinds particles. PACS numbers: 03.30.+p; 42. 90. +m; 03.65.Pm

Revisiting Barry Cox and James Hill’s theory of superluminal motion: a possible solution to the problem of spinless tachyon localization

In 2012, Barry Cox and James Hill published a new and elegant way to deduce the formulae of extended relativity, developed by Erasmo Recami and others during the 1960s and 1970s. Extended relativity applies to superluminal or FTL (faster than light in the vacuum) particles, called tachyons by the late American physicist Gerald Feinberg. However, tachyons generate causality paradoxes in special ...

SUPERLUMINAL SPATIO-TEMPORAL TRANSFORMATIONS First basic step toward the Superluminal Relativistic Mechanics

The paper provides a crucial elementary derivation of new superluminal spatio-temporal transformations based on the idea that, conceptually and kinematically, each subluminal ) (0 c v   ; luminal ) ( c v  and/or superluminal inertial reference frame c v > has, in addition to its relative velocity v , its proper specific kinematical parameter   v  , which having the physical dimensions of ...

Has Superluminal Light Propagation Been Observed? *

It says in the report by Wang et al. that a negative group velocity u = −c/310 is obtained and that a pulse advancement shift 62-ns is measured. The authors claim that the negative group velocity is associated with superluminal light propagation and that the pulse advancement is not at odds with causality or special relativity. However, it is shown here that their conclusions above are not true...

We extend the special relativity into the superluminal case and firstly put forward a new superluminal theory of kinematics, in which we show that the temporal coordinate need exchanging with one of the spatial coordinates in a superluminal inertial frame, and that the coordinate transformations from any superluminal inertial frame to the rest frame (here rest just says in a relative sense) are...
